Answers to Q&A

Why did you want to become a model?

I’ve always loved fashion. As a kid until now, I loved unique clothing on different people. I always thought it showed confidence and swagger. I'm a huge basketball fan. Before games, certain NBA players all dress up with really cool clothing. Like Shai Alexander and Russel Westbrook. I thought to myself, how can I rock those types of clothes without making it to the NBA haha? MODELING. After seeing certain models on billboards and ads on my phone I thought, that's gotta be me one day. So I guess modeling has always just been a goal of mine, and I always try to reach my goals.

What MAKES YOU SPECIAL?

I think what sets me apart from others is that I love talking to others and trying new things. I love trying new ideas, opportunities, hobbies, and sports. I make music, I model, I act, I play almost every sport. Trying something new is just adding a new chapter to my life. That's why I love talking to others. Everyone has their own story and purpose, hearing what other people have to say sometimes gives me inspiration to see various perspectives on life. Making others smile and laugh brings me joy.

WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT?

I'm very passionate about animals. I love them. I myself have a dog; my best friend. Since I was a child I was crazy about animals. I would go outside to catch frogs, salamanders, and go to petting zoos for my birthday. Animals bring me peace, so learning about them always excites me. In the future I intend to shelter and foster dogs that don't have a home.

If you could give an aspiring model any advice, what would it be?

Throw your shyness away when you go to work. When I first started modeling I was nervous and had a very blank stare when I would do shoots. What I realized was that the faces you make in the mirror, you might find “cringe” or “wierd” is what you should bring on set. Bring that confidence you have when you're staring at yourself in the mirror before a night out and bring it to work. This is a job, and just like any other job, your coworkers want to see work put in. If you keep the same stare when you're at shoots and it's not working, try something new. It might feel uncomfortable at first because it’s something new to you. Just get back on the bike and try again.

one thing you never want to do again.

One thing I would never want to do again is think how I can be 100% all the time. Life goes on. I sometimes lie in bed thinking “why did I say this” in a conversation I had years ago. I had to teach myself, stuff happens. Life is not always perfect. I don't think life would be great if I was, because nobody is. We all have slip ups and embarrassing moments, but that helps us grow to who we are today. It’s easier said than done, so I'm still working on it. It's a work in  progress.
