Mother Agency (MA): Ciotti Models

Answers to Q&A

Why did you want to become a model?

My main passions through my life have been dance and fashion. When I was a kid I loved fashion magazines and watching runway shoes. I saw them both as a performance, as like I did when I was in dance class, on stage at a competition or recital. When I was 16 I saw my first ever agency Elmer Olsen, after being told to go by a man that went to my mums church. He was a past model with Elmer Olsen and encouraged me and my mom. After our meeting I wasn’t sure I wanted to be a model as my career, but I was given the encouragement that I could be. From this I went on to work in photography and I am currently going to school for it. Learning about the production side of fashion magazines and runways. I realized I could combine my love for portraying a character and giving a performance with my passion of fashion and photography.

What makes you special?

I like to think I am special from the different perspectives I can offer through my education and experiences. I am getting a degree in Photography from Toronto Metropolitan University. Through learning photography production and theory, it allows me to see the perspective of a project from the photographer or director. I have a better understanding of lighting, and the expectations and limitations of how the model can interact with the camera. I have the knowledge  and experience of being both a model and photographer and the duality of those skill’s benefits each other when I am in the opposite role. I understand how many people it takes to put together any kind of production and how much each person plays a key roles in how the project turns out. When at a job we are all working as a team for the same end goal. Everyone there has a purpose and a job to preform.

What are you passionate about?

Other than my interests such as dance and fashion. I am very passionate about LGBTQ+ rights and diversity. Myself I identify as gay and non-binary. I use They/She pronouns. Since I was in middle school I have been very interested in learning about sexuality and gender identity and forms of expression. Gender affirming care and keeping our rights is something I am very passionate about.

If you could change one thing about the fashion industry, what would it be?

I would get rid of gendered clothing. I believe stores and brands would function the same and possibly sell more if items were categorized by style rather than split between men’s and women’s.

Describe your dream photoshoot.

My dream photoshoot would be a collaboration between myself and a group of young creatives where we would be given a budget and complete creative control over a campaign from a luxury brand/ designer.
