Mother Agency (MA): lang models

Answers to Q&A

What inspired you to become a model?

I first got scouted at the Shawn Mendes concert in downtown Toronto a few years ago. A lady came up to me while I was on the phone trying to find my friend and I didn’t listen to what she was saying and took the card she gave me. While waiting in line I asked my friend to throw out some stuff I had in my pockets. He looked at one of the cards with shock and asked where I got it. After I told him, he told me to contact them immediately and that this was a legit place. The card was from Elite Modeling. I remember going there for some sample pictures and telling my parents about it afterward, but they told me I was too young and should focus on school. Fast forward a couple of years, I’m working at the airport, get stopped, and have someone give me a card. He gave me some brief details about how he was a model scout on his way back to France but that I should call. After telling my friend that I went to the concert with, I was convinced to give it another go. I was referred to an agency in Toronto and had a meeting set up when the same friend told me he had a friend who knew someone with an agency. I told him I’d meet with both and see what I wanted to do. After the first meeting with Diane from Lang, I felt like it was a no-brainer to sign with her, and I don’t regret my decision one bit!

What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?

The fact that there are so many opportunities in the industry is what excites me the most. If posing for pictures isn’t your thing, you have the choice to act in ads or do runway shows and much more! I feel like there is something for everyone and you’re not limited to something specific (unless you want to be).

Can you share some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?

If modelling is something you're passionate about, stick to it. There is an industry for everyone. Not getting calls back happens to everyone, but it's not a measure of your worth or potential. Remember, success in modelling, as in any field, often requires persistence, resilience, and continuous self-improvement. Each rejection is not a step back but a step closer to the opportunity that's meant for you. Your unique look and personality are what will ultimately set you apart. Believe in yourself, be patient, and one day, you'll find that all your hard work and perseverance have paid off. Success is not just about being discovered; it's about preparing yourself so that when the right opportunity comes along, you're ready to shine.

Share a fun fact about yourself!

Something people tend to find interesting about me is the fact that I did Taekwondo for over 10 years! I am a third-degree black belt and even tied for first in the Provincial Championship.
