Answers to Q&A
What INSPIRED you to become a model?
I’ve always been drawn to fashion and the art of self-expression, which naturally led me to modeling. After some previous modeling experience—including being on the cover of a Harlequin novel—I decided to explore the industry further and connected with Kristina at Stray Management. I was inspired by the agency’s tight-knit group of models and the sense of community she had curated. Since joining Stray, I’ve had the chance to meet so many interesting creatives and have loved receiving feedback and pointers from others in the industry.
What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?
What excites me most about modeling is the opportunity to constantly learn and grow from others. Whether it’s collaborating with creative teams or experimenting with different styles and looks, I love the idea of always evolving. I’m also inspired by the diversity within the industry and how it’s becoming more inclusive. Being part of a movement that celebrates individuality and represents a wider range of beauty is incredibly motivating. It’s amazing to contribute to something that empowers others while pushing my own boundaries creatively.
Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?
I’m usually my biggest critic, so I’ve learned that having self-confidence—or even faking it until you truly feel it—is essential in modeling. Confidence is what will really elevate you and help you stand out. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along the way is the value of persistence and patience. Good things take time. Staying consistent, being open to growth, and believing in yourself, even during challenging moments, makes all the difference. Celebrate all progress!
share a fun fact about yourself!
I’m currently studying journalism, and I love storytelling in all its forms, whether through writing or visual media. I’ve showcased my drawings in art shows and am always seeking opportunities to push my creative boundaries. I also run an artist blog where I highlight the work of my talented friends in Toronto.
In addition, I’m working as a proposal writer and collaborating with my Elder to establish a rehabilitation center. Giving back to my community is incredibly important to me, and I strive to focus on work that is both personally fulfilling and impactful for others.
