Answers to Q&A
What inspired you to become a model?
The modeling and fashion world has always appealed to me in some degree, eventually I stopped procrastinating and decided to apply to multiple agencies within Toronto. Various meetings, zoom calls, and in- person interviews followed. After all was said and done, I decided that Massardo Management was exceptional and catered to what I was looking for in an agency to the highest degree, which really stood out to me.
What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?
The idea of being able to possibly travel all across the globe, experience new cultures, meet new people, try different types of cuisine definitely gets me excited more than words can describe, I love traveling and getting out my comfort zone persay, so I feel as though the travel aspect is one of the things that excites me the most when it comes to modeling, being that I was recently got signed to an agency in London, England as well, this dream is definitely becoming closer to a reality, which I am very grateful for. To add onto my previous point of meeting new people, that's definitely very exciting as well, seeing all the other models on set, the social media team , along with everyone else involved. I love seeing different personalities collaborating all in one creative space.
Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?
I'd say the most important thing for upcoming models or anyone that's looking to get into the industry is being confident in yourself and being able to take constructive criticism. Naturally, there's gonna be moments in time when you might feel like you're not good enough or you might not feel your best and this may cause you to draw comparisons with yourself and other models, try your best to focus on yourself, your journey and ultimately how you can improve yourself as a model. Being comfortable in your own skin and recognizing that you're beautiful is something that will help you in modeling along with the real world.
Secondly, always be open to feedback, whether it's positive or negative. There will be moments in time when your agent might tell you things that you may need to improve on in order to be the best you can be, whether it's your walk, skin care, your physique, etc. Every model has weak points in some way, shape, or form, so always be transparent with yourself and take it as a point to improve rather than get defensive about constructive feedback.
Also, you need to get used to hearing "no''. The modeling world is constantly evolving day by day, so there's gonna be times when casting directors will not take you on and this could be for multiple reasons. Don't be too discouraged about this as it is common even for experienced models as well.
To sum it all up, be humble when getting into modeling, don't try to place yourself on a pedestal, or think you're better than individuals simply due to the fact that you model. Be able to differentiate being arrogant and being confident, all in all, believe in your capabilities as a model and don't doubt yourself to any degree.
Share a fun fact about yourself!
I love reading poetry and trying to decipher the messages or meanings of the poem at hand.
Secondly, I absolutely love horror movies, thriller movies and rom coms. In all honesty, I'm an open book when it comes to trying new things, my only non-negotiable is skydiving.
