What inspired you to become a model?
I have been interested in fashion and style since I was younger, around six or seven. Finally, when I was twelve, my mom let me participate in a local fashion event, and that led me to Toronto and Anita Norris Models (ANM). I've been involved in a few fashion events and a number of shoots, and I absolutely love it!
To add to that, I attended an audition for Toronto Kids Fashion Week and was invited to be in the show. It cost a lot of money, so I didn't participate. Shortly after that, I was invited to a new faces program at an agency in Ottawa. My mom comes to Toronto a lot with her work, so I came with her one time, and we explored a few agencies in the city. ANM has programs for younger models, and they welcomed me with open arms, so it felt like a good fit.
What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?
I am excited about traveling because I love the adventure of new places, and I like to meet new people and learn their stories. One of my favourite things is the runway. It is amazing to walk down the runway with the lights and music. I feel powerful and strong!
Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?
Do not try to be someone else, just be your authentic self. Setting goals is important as well, and be open to opportunities that present themselves.
Share a fun fact about yourself!
I am a military kid so I have lived in four different provinces and in the United States. I am also a provincial BMX champion, and I'm on my school track and field team--I love competing!
One more fun fact about myself is, one of my favourite places is the little creek behind my house. I enjoy being outside in general, and camping is one of my favourite things to do, especially if it's near water because I like paddle boarding.
