Answers to Q&A
What inspired you to become a model?
I have loved the arts all throughout my life, and modeling gave me another way to explore my creative side further and make art with amazing creatives. I am so grateful to get to be a part of such an amazing industry and can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!
I was scouted in the Eaton Centre last winter, about 2 minutes before I was going to hop on the subway to go back home. An agent came up to me, and we instantly clicked over our similarity in height, and then she started asking me if I had ever considered modeling before and the rest was history! I was super lucky and I feel so fortunate to have been scouted by my amazing agents!
What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?
There is so much change in the industry and I am so excited to see what’s next and to be a part of it! From sustainability to technological innovation, the fashion industry is seeing a lot of changes currently and I’m happy to have the opportunity to be involved in the work of such talented and innovative creatives.
I have loved meeting the amazing people that I have worked with so far and can’t wait to see what's next for them and meet even more talented creatives in the future. I am also super excited about all the doors that modeling opens. I hope to travel in the spring!
Can you share some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?
Agencies are always scouting - you never know when you might get signed. You could be walking through the mall one day, and it could happen to you!
I went to a masterclass with Maddison (Maddison & Company) in the summer, and I learned a lot from her as well. Most importantly, I learned that you should be open and communicative about where you want your modeling career to go, which I think is so important to be successful in the way that you want.
Share a fun fact about yourself!
A fun fact about me is that I used to competitively play the flute and can pick up almost any instrument. I performed at the 75th commemoration of Pearl Harbour in Hawaii when I was fourteen. It is still probably one of my biggest accomplishments and I was so honored to have had the opportunity to be a part of something so important. Music has taught me so much, from patience to perseverance!
