Answers to Q&A

Why did you want to become a model?

When I discovered modeling at the age of five, it was immediately something I aspired to be. As a kid who loved being in front of the camera, paired with my love of fashion and beauty, I could not think of a more perfect job.

Growing up, I was fortunate that my parents allowed me to express myself freely. They allowed me to colour my hair, wear makeup, and dress however I wanted. I was never told I couldn’t wear something. My little Aquarius self was thriving, and I think that sparked my love for all things fashion from then on.

My mom has an interest in fashion as well, and I can thank her for introducing me to this world. I remember watching the very first season of America’s Next Top Model with her when it first came out and I quickly became obsessed. We used to watch the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show together religiously every year. That has always been my ultimate dream booking so I’m glad they’re bringing it back. Maybe you’ll see me on that runway one day.

What makes you special?

I think what makes me special is that I am unapologetically devoted to fulfilling my dreams. I am very determined, resilient, and so driven that I refuse to give up until I make my dreams a reality. Everyone has a dream; the difference is that many people may find it easier to give up when the going gets tough. The modeling/entertainment industry is intense and not for the faint of heart. It’s an unconventional career path with so many variables and constant rejection. Yet, I can’t see myself doing anything else.

I’ve always said that I was going to be famous one day. I didn’t know how exactly; it was just something I felt to be innately true. I will continue chasing that dream for 5-year-old Olivia.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about living my life authentically and trying to experience as much as I can in this lifetime. There is so much to see and do and I want to live life fully with no regrets. My dad passed away in 2023, and what it gifted me was perspective. Life is too short, so I want to live it on my terms, doing things that bring me joy, surrounded by people I love.

Modeling has presented me with so many amazing opportunities and I’m grateful for every single one. I may have never been given the chance to live on three different continents, model for amazing global brands and meet so many people otherwise.

When you are not modeling, what do you do on your day off?

If I have a day off, you can most definitely find me with a book in hand. Or my Kindle. There are very few things I love in this life other than escaping in a good book. My TBR (to be read) is so long it’s a little overwhelming. So many books, so little time.

What are two interesting things about you?

One interesting thing about me is that I played competitive volleyball growing up. My entire world revolved around the sport for several years. Other than fashion, volleyball was my greatest passion. I played into university until I got injured and had to retire. Stereotypical ex-athlete story…

The second is that I hold a bachelor’s degree in business. Post-grad, I envisioned myself working in the corporate side of fashion. Clearly, I diverted from that path slightly, but I do still see myself living the She-EO lifestyle one day. Eventually I may even have my own brand. Like I said, I want to live as many experiences as possible.
