Answers to Q&A
Why did you want to become a model?
The desire to become a model didn’t come until later in life. I never saw it as a possibility for me, considering my height and nationality. It wasn’t until around 2016 when I started to see the diversity on magazine covers, campaigns, and brands. That’s when I allowed myself to have the desire to become a model because things were actually changing, women/girls were all different shapes and sizes as well as ethnicity. I wanted to prove that people that look like me can also be apart of this world.
What makes you special?
I’ve lived on 3 different continents by the age of 8. I was fortunate enough to see the world at such a young age, which allowed me to have a better understanding of life and different cultures. This gave me important life skills that typically people my age didn’t obtain. What makes me special is my ability to understand people on different levels, than the normal everyday person.
What are you passionate about?
I have a lot of passions, but currently I am most passionate about acting. Acting has been an itch of mine since I could remember. The ability to share important stories and to play pretend has always fascinated me.
If you could give an aspiring model any advice, what would it be?
If I could give an aspiring model any advice, it would be to never compare your journey and success to another. There is no one way of accomplishing success. Know your values and your boundaries and to be firm with them, don’t do anything you don’t want to do.
When you are not modeling, what do you do on your day off?
On my days off I typically am either at home or traveling. I'm a homebody when I’m stuck in one city. When I have the extra time to pack up and get away, I love to travel and experiences different cultures, food and a change of scenery.
