Answers to Q&A

Why did you want to become a model?

When I was young, I would go to the bookstore after school or on the weekends and sit there for hours, going through the Vogues, Harper’s Bazaars, Elles, or whatever the store had at the time. I loved looking at the different shoots and how they could tell stories through the clothing, but I never thought that could be me. It was a dream, but I didn’t know it could be reality. So when I started my career and walked my first show in NYC, I remember my mom saying just to hold on and see where this story takes you, and I’m so grateful I did!

What makes you special?

I think everyone is special in their own way. I’m not entirely sure what makes me particularly special, but my friends like to say that I’m good at making people feel comfortable. I like to make sure there’s always a positive environment. I think having a safe space for everyone to feel included and like they can express themselves comfortably is really important on set and in my everyday life.

What are you passionate about?

NYC has so many opportunities for you to try, so I often develop new passions. I love modelling—being behind a camera and creating with like-minded creatives, where we all just want to create something we’re proud of. There’s something special about being on set and seeing the outcome of that shoot. I’m also passionate about music, especially classical music, as I grew up playing the violin, and I’m a huge foodie. I’m always going around the city looking for a new coffee shop or food spot to tell my friends about.

When you are not modeling, what do you do on your day off?

When I’m not modelling, I’m probably exploring the city, looking for a new restaurant to save to my NYC food spots list, playing my violin at home, or meeting up with friends. I try to have a balanced life where I see my friends regularly but have my alone time so I can recharge my social battery and be more present when I’m around others.

If you could give an aspiring model any advice, what would it be?

Be present. This is a very special world you’re a part of. There’s so much the outside world doesn’t see, and so much you don’t know before you’re a part of it. But when you are given that opportunity to see what’s on the inside, to see the special parts, just be present and enjoy it. These are unique experiences, so don’t let them go by without enjoying every second.
