Answers to Q&A

What inspired you to become a model?

When I was younger, my mom always wanted me to model, but I always felt insecure about my looks, especially my hair, so I never felt like I belonged within the modelling sphere. When I was 18 years old, I started working at Lucky Charm Vintage in downtown Toronto, and we would often post “Staff Fits” videos just to show off the girls and their style! It just so happened that my agent found me on one of these TikToks and messaged me through Instagram asking If I was considering modelling or was signed with an agency currently. I was genuinely so shocked but so excited and I quickly got together with all of the wonderful agents at B&M where we all got to know each other and I learned about some of the basics of modelling and what it entails. I signed with them that same day!

What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?

One of the things I am most excited about in terms of modelling is the amount of people you meet, whether it’s other models, makeup artists, hair stylists, producers, or photographers. It is so amazing connecting with someone. I am an incredibly social person, and within the field of modelling, it’s nearly impossible to not make any friends or meet new people. I am also so excited to travel eventually, as I’ve recently signed with Milk Management in London, something I never thought I could achieve, but with the help of B&M I’ve grown so much as a model and person in such a short time, and I cannot wait for all that is to come!

Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?

My main piece of advice to models is to not only be incredibly kind to everyone you work with but also be kind to YOURSELF! When I first started modelling, I was insecure about my body, my hair, and so many things, and I let that get in the way of so many opportunities. I would hyper-fixate on such minute details, and after having a heart-to-heart conversation with all my agents, I realized I was the only one getting in the way of my potential. As easy as it may be to be so hard on yourself, remember you’re doing this work for a reason and you’re worthy and beautiful.

Share a fun fact about yourself!

A fun fact about me is that I’ve been volunteering with the Toronto Humane Society for almost two years, an animal shelter located in Toronto, where I work to clean, walk, play and love dogs who are waiting for their forever homes. I adopted my dog, Winnie, from the Toronto Humane Society in 2017 and ever since it has been a dream of mine to help all the adorable and loveable pups in the shelter. It is some of the most rewarding work I have ever done and I truly believe this organization will always hold a massive place in my heart.
